CCSVI can be explained as a vascular condition where veins draining blood from the brain are either blocked or malformed in some way. Angioplasty can be used, he says, to clear this blockage. His findings and surgical alternative as a way to treat multiple sclerosis is also called the Zamboni Procedure.
Researchers including in India continue to test the new theory that it could be a vascular disease, which will represent a major shift from the traditional thinking that multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune condition.
